Date: July 3, 2025

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, a joint meeting was held between the Renewable Energy Authority, chaired by Engineer Aseel Younes Mohamed Erteima, a member of the Authority’s Board of Directors, and the Committee for Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 at the Libyan Audit Bureau, chaired by Dr. Mansour Khalifa Al-Hamali.

The meeting was attended by several department directors from both sides. Discussions focused on monitoring and implementing the Renewable Energy Authority’s activities and plans in various areas, including the project to establish solar energy systems at multiple strategic locations—such as hospitals, healthcare centers, mosques, schools, colleges, residential areas, and highways.

The meeting emphasized the importance of solar energy as an alternative and sustainable power source, and the need to broaden the scope of local and international investment in this vital sector, in a way that contributes to supporting Libya’s national resources and strengthening energy security.

The discussions also covered ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Renewable Energy Authority and the Audit Bureau’s Committee, and to develop a comprehensive plan for implementing future projects—leveraging Libya’s natural resources and favorable climate conditions.

Participants stressed the importance of cooperation and integrated efforts as a key factor for success, while committing to practical steps that support progress in the field of renewable energy within the country.
