"The Renewable Energy Authority and the United Nations Development Programme Discuss Strengthening Sustainable Energy Projects in Libya

As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation in support of sustainable energy projects, the Renewable Energy Authority today received a high-level delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at its headquarters.

The meeting was chaired by Eng. Aseel Younis Mohammed, Member of the Board of Directors, with the participation of several department and office directors from the Authority. UNDP was represented by Mr. Mohammed Saleh, Deputy Resident Representative, along with his accompanying delegation.

The meeting addressed several key topics, including:

  • Following up on the implementation of the previous meeting’s resolutions and presenting a comprehensive action plan in the field of renewable energy.
  • Discussing technical and legal reports related to the project for installing solar energy systems for water pumps in the Ubari and Al-Awaynat regions.
  • Exploring the Authority’s participation in UNDP events, particularly in the area of energy efficiency.
  • Reviewing the progress of the project to install solar-powered systems for operating groundwater pumps in Al-Qalaa Municipality.

This meeting reflects the shared vision to promote environmental sustainability and advance green development in the region.
