The Renewable Energy Authority hosted today, Sunday, 7 December 2025, Dr. Zuhair Hamdi, Executive Director of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, where an expanded meeting was held to discuss the existing cooperation programs between the two parties and the prospects for their development in the coming period.

From the Renewable Energy Authority, the meeting was attended by Mr. Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors; Mr. Eng. Aseel Younis Mohammed, Member of the Board of Directors; and Mr. Eng. Mohammed Al-Mutaki, Director of the Studies and Development Department.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Eng. Nasr Al-Din Imhamed Al-Barghali in his capacity as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center, in addition to Mr. Eng. Mohammed Dakheel Saidoun, the Center’s National Focal Point in Libya.

The meeting reviewed the joint efforts between the Authority and the Regional Center and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of technical studies, exchange of expertise, capacity building, and the development of programs and projects that serve the state’s direction toward expanding the use of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency.

The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two sides in a manner that contributes to supporting national plans for the transition to clean energy and enhancing Libya’s regional role in this vital field.

This meeting comes within the framework of the Renewable Energy Authority’s commitment to strengthening its relations with regional and international institutions and working to develop initiatives and projects that support sustainable development in the energy sector.
