The International Conference on Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen was inaugurated on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Benghazi, Libya, with wide participation from governmental entities and institutions. The conference discussed various topics under the theme "Investment Climate and Regulatory Laws." The Renewable Energy Authority participated in the conference with a high-level delegation, including Engineer Osama Bouferda, a board member, Engineer Mohamed Al-Metki, Director of the Studies and Development Department, and Engineer Mohamed Saidon, Director of the Board Affairs Office. In his speech, Mr. Mohamed Saidon emphasized the interest of the President and the Board members in supporting scientific and research activities to raise awareness about renewable energy technologies. He stressed the importance of achieving actionable outcomes and recommendations and enhancing partnerships between universities, researchers, and the authority to support scientific research and develop the renewable energy sector. Additionally, Mr. Mohamed Al-Metki delivered a presentation summarizing the activities of the Renewable Energy Authority over the past years and its future plans for sector development
It is worth noting that the Renewable Energy Authority was one of the main sponsors of the conference, reflecting its commitment to supporting sustainable development efforts and promoting the use of renewable energy in Libya.
