As part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with international partners, the Renewable Energy Authority participated in the 4th German-Libyan Economic Forum, which commenced on Monday morning, May 13, 2025, at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, and continued for two days. The event was organized by the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, with high-level participation from government officials and business leaders from Libya and Germany.

The Authority was represented by Engineer Aseel Younes Mohamed, Acting Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority’s Board of Directors, accompanied by a number of specialists from the Authority. The delegation participated in panel discussions and bilateral meetings scheduled throughout the forum.
The Authority took part in the energy sector panel discussion, which covered topics related to oil and gas, electricity, and renewable energy. Engineer Aseel Younes Mohamed delivered a detailed presentation on investment opportunities in Libya’s renewable energy sector, highlighting key aspects of the National Strategy for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, and presenting major future projects in solar and wind energy.
During the session, he also introduced the “Go Green” initiative, aimed at installing solar energy systems on the roofs of public and private buildings, considering it a cornerstone for achieving Libya’s transition to clean energy.
Engineer Aseel Younes Mohamed emphasized the importance of leveraging Germany’s leading expertise in modern technology and renewable energy, particularly in technical and investment areas, and called for strengthening partnerships between Libyan and German institutions.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Authority’s team held bilateral meetings with several German companies specializing in energy and technology. These discussions explored prospects for cooperation in training, capacity building, technology transfer, and investment in infrastructure for renewable energy projects.
The Renewable Energy Authority’s participation in this forum aligns with its strategic vision to engage with international experiences and enhance economic and technical partnerships. This supports Libya’s energy transition efforts, diversifies income sources, and contributes to energy security and comprehensive development across the country.
