The activities of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit commenced on the morning of Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Rixos Conference Hall in Tripoli. The summit will continue for two days and is attended by a wide range of representatives from local and international companies and institutions.
The opening of the summit featured a speech by Engineer Abdulhamid Dbeibeh, the Prime Minister, who emphasized the importance of developing the energy sector to promote economic development in Libya.
Representing the Renewable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdelsalam Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Board, Eng. Nasr Eldin Al-Barqali, and Eng. Ibrahim Kanah, board members, as well as Eng. Aseel Younis Mohammed, Chairman of the Holding Company for Renewable Energy, participated in the summit, alongside several department and office directors from the Authority.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority and the Chairman of the Holding Company for Renewable Energy held several meetings with officials and representatives from international companies and institutions specializing in renewable energy. Discussions focused on ways to develop investment in this vital sector, enhance joint cooperation, implement pioneering projects, exchange technical expertise, and build capacities.
The participating officials underscored the importance of renewable energy in supporting national energy security and strengthening Libya’s position both locally and internationally.
