Renewable Energy Authority Participates in the Conference on Enhancing British Investment Opportunities in the Renewable Energy Sector – London 2025

The Renewable Energy Authority participated today, Wednesday, 26 November 2025, in the conference held in the British capital, London, with the attendance of a distinguished group of British companies and investors, international financial institutions, representatives of development organizations, and academic bodies. The aim was to explore opportunities for cooperation and partnership in the field of renewable energy and to strengthen joint investments between Libya and the United Kingdom.

The conference opened with remarks from the session chair, Mr. Peter Millett, Chairman of LBBC, who presented a clear vision for enhancing British investment opportunities in the Libyan renewable energy market.

Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority, delivered the opening statements, outlining the Authority’s vision and its pivotal role in supporting the transition toward clean energy, in addition to Libya’s ambitions to develop new strategic projects.

The conference featured two visual presentations: the first introducing the Authority, and the second highlighting the National Strategy for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency 2023–2035, including key opportunities for international partnership.

Engineer Aseel Younis Mohammed presented an overview of renewable energy projects in Libya, followed by a specialized discussion on the current situation and future potential of the sector.

During the first session, chaired by Engineer Aseel Younis Mohammed, a member of the Authority’s Board of Directors, ready-to-launch partnership projects were reviewed, alongside discussions on legal and financial frameworks and available investment opportunities.

The second session consisted of an open forum for interactive discussion and responses to participants’ inquiries.

The event concluded with networking activities and bilateral (B2B) meetings, paving the way for future cooperation between the two sides.

The Renewable Energy Authority affirms that its participation in this conference comes as part of its efforts to enhance international partnerships and attract investments to support clean energy projects and accelerate Libya’s transition toward a sustainable future.
