The Renewable Energy Authority discusses prospects for cooperation and investment in renewable energy with the British Embassy.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, received today, Monday, 2 February 2026, in the capital Tripoli, a high-level delegation from the British Embassy, within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and energy transition. The embassy delegation included His Excellency Ambassador Martin Reynolds and his accompanying team.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Aseel Younis Mohammed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Holding Company, in addition to a number of directors of departments and offices at the Authority.

The meeting addressed several key topics, including an introduction to the Authority and its mandates, a review of the National Strategy for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, and an overview of the Authority’s activities and achievements during the previous period. The discussions also covered the Energy Transition Conference, to be held in cooperation with the Libyan-British Business Council in the United Kingdom.

Both sides also discussed areas of joint cooperation with the British side, ways to encourage British companies to enter and invest in renewable energy projects in Libya, as well as technical support, capacity building, and the transfer of expertise.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening partnership and continuous coordination in a manner that contributes to supporting the renewable energy sector and achieving sustainable development goals in Libya.
