On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Mr. Abdulsalam Suleiman Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Board of the Renewable Energy Authority, along with Eng. Aseel Younes Mohamed, Board Member, received Mr. Nikola Stojanović, State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his accompanying delegation at the Authority’s headquarters in Tripoli. The visit took place as part of the Serbian delegation’s participation in the Libyan-Serbian Economic Forum.
During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the two sides, attended by several directors and heads of departments at the Authority. The meeting focused on exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and Serbia in the field of renewable energy.
Mr. Stojanović affirmed his country’s full readiness to support and strengthen its partnership with Libya and to expand avenues of cooperation between the public and private sectors in both countries within this vital sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the near future, outlining the frameworks and mechanisms necessary to organize this collaboration—particularly in the areas of knowledge exchange, capacity building, training, and the implementation of investment projects in the renewable energy sector—in a way that serves the interests of both countries and supports sustainable development.
It is worth noting that the Libyan-Serbian Economic Forum aims to boost investment opportunities, develop trade relations between Libyan and Serbian companies, and open new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
