The Renewable Energy Authority participated in the Arab Conference on Renewable and Sustainable Energy, which was opened on Monday, July 3, 2023, in Benghazi, Libya. The conference was organized by the Energy Committee of the Arab Engineers Union and was sponsored by several entities, including the National Oil Corporation, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, the Oil Research Center, and the Universities of Benghazi and Omar Al-Mukhtar. The Authority was represented at the conference by Engineer Nasr Al-Din Al Barqali, a board member, Engineer Ibrahim Kanah, a board member, Engineer Mohamed Masoud Al-Metki, Director of the Studies and Development Department, and several engineers from the Authority.

The conference lasted for three days, with experts and specialists from several Arab countries, including Egypt, Oman, Morocco, Iraq, Bahrain, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Jordan, participating.

The conference discussed several topics over the course of two days, with presentations of scientific papers and presentations on renewable energy. The conference aimed to highlight the latest developments in the field and raise awareness of both the positive aspects and the challenges facing sector development.
At the end of the conference, a closing ceremony was held to present the conference's recommendations, and awards and certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants and sponsoring institutions. This event strengthens the Renewable Energy Authority's efforts to promote sustainable energy culture and open up opportunities for collaboration between Arab countries in the field of renewable energy.
