Joint Launch Event for EU-Funded Projects

On Thursday morning, a joint launch event for EU-funded projects was held in Tripoli, Libya, aimed at supporting the transition of the energy system and efforts to tackle climate change in Libya. The forum saw the participation of national partners, including representatives from the Government of National Unity and relevant ministries, institutions, and authorities related to energy and climate change. The international side was represented by:

• The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany
• The German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ)
• The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Key Topics: The forum covered several important topics, including a presentation from the UNDP, which provided an overview of the energy transition and climate change project, highlighting the annual work plan and expected arrangements to achieve the set goals.
The event concluded with a discussion session, where opinions were exchanged on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate-related topics. These discussions helped foster mutual understanding and cooperation between participants, reflecting Libya’s commitment and the international community’s joint efforts to address energy and climate change challenges.
